Turkey Time (and some other updates)

I just love this time of year.  Fall is rolling in, the weather has been AMAZING, the color changes in leaves are beautiful, the family time, EVERYTHING!

So as most of you know I had another procedure done yesterday to follow up with my cervical biopsy.  This time they did some cryo-therapy.  Basically what they did was freeze the abnormal cells on my cervix for 2.5 minutes, then rest for 15 minutes, then freeze again for 2.5 minutes.  Needless to say, it was NOT fun!  It was very uncomfortable and I had lots of cramping afterwards.  I am doing much better today but still having some cramping.  This procedure should have resolved the problem.  I do not have to see my GYN again for 4 months!  So keep saying your prayers that the cryo-therapy took care of it and I don't have to go through anything more! :)

Mom, Jaime, Kadyn, and Kyson came up Monday afternoon to help me get ready for the Zickefoose Thanksgiving Feast.  Mom also accompanied me to the doctor so Scott didn't have to take off work.  I have truly enjoyed having them at my house.  They are sooooo helpful!  They are constantly cooking, cleaning, doing my laundry, etc.  It's awesome.  They are totally going to spoil me...and then leave! :(  My dad, Kyle, and Aubrey will be here this evening.  I get to start making the pies this evening and tomorrow will be another day full of cooking, eating, and of course, FOOTBALL!  We are so ready for this little break, especially Hubby.  He has been working 6 days a week, 10 hours a day.  He is beat!  I am so proud of him for working so hard.  He has learned to run 8 out of the 11 machines in the shop!  Some people have been with the company for years and only know how to run 1 or 2 machines.  Hubby has been there for ONE year!!!!  How awesome is he!?!?!

So as this hectic yet fun day approaches, i thought I would give you a quick list of things that I am thankful for.
- My amazing Husband, who i love more and more every day
- Our wonderful families
- LIFE
- our friends, who we may not see often but know they are there
- love, and the ability to share it with others
- work
- and most importantly, Jesus Christ!

There are so many things to be thankful for...this list is not half of them.  Just remember to show your appreciation to those who impact your life.

Hope everyone has a very blessed Thanksgiving.
Love to all!

SUPRISE!!!!!

This past weekend I made a surprise trip to Buda to see my best friend, Linz and attend her baby shower!  I'll re-cap the weekend:
I got to Austin around noon-time on Saturday and went to Jen Lee's apt. (Haven't seen her since my wedding!!!!)  Her and I did some shopping for baby gifts then headed back to her apartment.  She is currently working her little tail off trying to get into the Communication Disorders program so i left her to study and headed south to Buda.  Jason knew I was coming so he was keeping me updated on the soon-to-be parents plans.  They had been in birthing class all day so i was anxiously awaiting for them to get home so I could make my appearance.  I got to their house around 7 p.m.  Their front door has a window on it that you can see through.  When I walked up I could see Linz standing in the kitchen.  So, i knocked and stepped to the side so she could not see me.  Apparently I didn't step far enough to the side because right before the door opened I heard screaming.  She was pretty excited to see me, as I was pretty excited to see her!  She has the cutest little belly EVER!  I hate living so far away from her so it's always sooooo good to see her.  That night we watched Jason put up the baby crib and we unpacked and organized some gifts that she has already received.  Baby Jaxon should be here mid-January.  I cannot wait to meet him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  His Aunt Kayla loves him already! :)
The baby shower was Sunday afternoon.  At the shower I realized how blessed Linz is to have such great friends.  I truly love all of the people she hangs out with.  They are all so awesome to her and Jason both...and I know they will be the same with Jaxon when he arrives.  I hate being so far away from Linz but I know that she has great people in her life to "watch over her" for me.  It's so hard when you are so far away from your best friend!

It's always something.....

I wasn't going to post about this because I didn't think it was really a big deal, but it's kind of turning out that way.  I am VERY regular about having my yearly well woman's exam.  In Oct. by exam came back abnormal.  The doctor told me that it happens quite often and usually is nothing to worry about but I had to come in for a colposcopy and cervical biopsy.  No big deal, right?  Well, it was the most uncomfortable thing ever!  He said the spot was very small and that he probably got it all out with just the biopsy.  This was done last wednesday.  Yesterday i got the results from the biopsy....STILL ABNORMAL!  Now i have to go in for another procedure.  UGH!  I will now have some cryotherapy done, where they will freeze my cervix...TWICE!  The nurse told me that this should prevent the "spot" in question from turning into cancer.  At my colpsocopy appointment my doctor told me that on a scale of 1-6 (i being normal, 6 being cancer) i was a 2.  I am sure the procedure will NOT be comfortable, just as the last one wasn't.  I will have this done the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  Has anyone ever had this done?  The nurse that called me didn't quite seem concerned but i am!  Any information from people who have actually experienced this will be wonderful!  So, keep me in your prayers!  I also have an appt with an endocrinologist next week to discuss the rapid weight gain.  Hopefully between these 2 doctors we can figure something out.  Maybe the abnormalities are affecting me somehow.  I dont know but I hope we can figure this all out! I'm tired of not feeling well!!!!

On another note, Scott has his wisdom teeth pulled on Friday.  He did GREAT!  Never had a whole lot of pain and was up and at 'em by Sunday.  My parents came up and dad built us a new back patio cover!  (with the help of my uncle)  Scott was sad that he couldn't help but we had this planned for a while and his teeth kind of got in the way!  Mom and I walked the heart walk for American Heart Association on Saturday morning, then of course did some shopping!  We also got lots done around the house...i feel like i live in a whole new house! haha  It's really starting to look like a HOME. :)  My parents are just amazing!  I couldnt have done it without them , thats for sure.

So anyway, that's about it for now.  Keep me in your prayers that we find something out soon and that it all turns out ok.

Love to all!

Just an update

So, how was your halloween?  I have really enjoyed looking at all of our friends and familys pictures from their Halloween fun!  Scott and I had plans, but......didn't end up doing anything.  Scott has needed his wisdom teeth pulled for about 4 years now and has ceased to get it done.  They bother him from time to time but this past weekend they REALLY started to bother him.  He had to work Saturday and came home in LOTS of pain.  He took some leftover pain meds that he had from when he had shingles and it didn't even touch the pain.  Poor thing! :(  He pretty much stayed in bed all weekend because his mouth hurt so bad.  He woke up monday morning and decided to not go to work and try to get in to see a dentist.  He was able to see a dentist at 10 and the oral surgeon at 2.  Thank God!  He has been put on some strong antibiotics and some pain meds.  He will have 3 wisdom teeth and another tooth that has an abcess under it pulled on Friday.  I am so anxious for him to not hurt anymore.  I just hate when he is in pain and i can't do anything about it! So, say a little prayer for him Friday around 10:45!

On another note....Scott's company has become SUPER busy!  I think I have blogged about this previously.  The last few weeks he has been working 8 hour days, 6 days a week.  Starting yesterday they started working 10 hour shifts, 6 days a week!  That's 40 hours of OVERTIME per paycheck!  Not sure if a really tired hubby is worth the money but those paychecks sure will be nice! :)  He is such a hard worker.  I am just so proud of him!

Last night we were able to see our sister-in-law, Jenna.  She was in town visiting a friend so we met for dinner.  This was the last time we will see her before she is off to California.  Her hubby is a marine and will return home from Afghanistan early December.  YAAAY JOSH!!!  Jenna is also expecting a little baby in December.  I am just so happy for them and ready for Josh to be on US soil!  Scott and I are ready to make a visit to Cali too once baby Mia arrives!

This coming weekend is the American Heart Association Heart Walk.  Mom and Dad are coming up for the weekend too!  Mom and I are going to do the walk while Dad starts working on some projects around the house (and take care of hubby while he recovers from his wisdom teeth surgery).  We had originally planned this weekend as a "work weekend".  We are re-doing our back patio and doing some other little projects around the house that we have been dreaming up!  It's so much fun!!!!  I know Scott is sad that he won't be able to partake in the work but at least he will be there to give opinions if needed.  It's so cool to have a dad and husband who love doing things like this!  Makes me happy :)
The American Heart Association Heart Walk is one of my favorite events of the year.  I just love everything about it.  The hospital set a goal to raise $10,000 this year.  We ended up raising over $15,000!!!!!!!!!!!  How awesome is that.  $15,000 to an organization that can possibly assist in saving peoples lives.  AMAZING!!!  I am so proud to be a part of this hospital.

Whew!  Quite of an update there.  As you can see there is lots going on!   We are definitely keeping busy and loving life.
Love to all.
